What's the Point?

I get asked this question often. What's the point of working out everyday? What's the point of lifting all that heavy stuff? What's the point of your schooling, and what you're educating yourself on? What's the point of doing what you do? "It won't get you anywhere". "What is the practical use for it all?". Time after time I get asked all these questions and told that what I do is worthless. I get asked what the point of life is, what the point of doing what i do is. I am baffled about how much I get bombarded with these questions and ridicule.

The point? In short, there is no point. I could accept my fate, my ultimate fate of death, and not do a damn thing with my life. I could go sit behind a desk and pencil push and punch a time clock. "Yes sir, no sir" and brown nose my way to a head higher in the corporate ass. 40 hour weeks, pension, vacation days, sick days. I could do all that. OR I could do what I love, and never work a day in my life. Why do I do what I do? What's the point? I have a passion, I have motivation and drive to do something worthwhile. Something that I LOVE to do. Something that makes me feel alive everyday that I do it. I feel at home when that heavy barbell leaves the floor. I feel at home when my bare feet touch the ground outside. When I am exploring the outdoors and becoming one with nature. When I meditate, and heal my body. The point? I am using my knowledge and my experience to change other peoples lives.

The point of all of this, is to do what you love and let it kill you. Do what you love, and live your life freely. I could settle, I could get a job and settle for 60 years and die. Or I could get a job, and move my way up in the world. Eventually opening my own business and helping everyone I can reach. Through this blog, through my videos, through me going to school and through me gaining more knowledge and first world experience at things. I am able to help mold someone else's life. That is why I do what I do. I got into fitness and nutrition to help save my own life, and I am using that to help save others. Fitness has kept me from death. And nutrition kept me from an early grave by diseases.

It hurts, the grind, the struggle, it hurts real bad. But so does mediocrity. So does defeat and so does falling from grace. If no one did what they loved, the things we love most wouldn't be here. I do what I do, to give back. Motivation, nutrition, fitness, eastern healing arts such as Reiki and Hypnotherapy and things in that category. These things drive me, these things are my passion. I am on this earth to help spread the message of love, and healing into each and every person who crosses my path.

So, what's the point you ask? The point of this life? The point is to do what you love despite what everyone says. Do what you love, until the day you die even if what you love kills you. Find your passion, find your mark you want to make on the world and run with it. Never dull yourself for the darkness others spread. Never let their negative outshine your positive. Find your passion, find your heart and find yourself. Once you do, don't let anything stop you. You can achieve anything you set your mind out to achieve. The world is full of possibilities, endless possibilities. The point of this life, is to live it to its fullest. With no regrets, with no off button. Go out, have fun, experience things and don't look back. It's not about the number of moments you have, but what those few moments meant to you. Make them all count.

Don't come to a point in your life, where you look back and you see all the things you wish you would have done. Come to the point, when you can  look back and think "What a ride that was" Look back on your life, and don't regret anything. Everything you do, you do for a reason. Everything do you, is exactly what you want to do. The choice is yours, the end result is yours to choose. Choose your own point in life.

The Meaning of Life.

I want to talk today about life in general. And, how you can make your life happier and better to the level you wish to achieve it. It is possible, to turn your life around and to be happier than you ever thought. While some of you sit there, you're depressed and upset. You cannot find a reason to even wake up anymore. And, to be 100% honest with you, I have been there before. A few years ago. I was at my low point. But, I turned it around. And now, while I am not 100% at the goals I have. I am on my way, on the path. And I am happy. Finally. You can be too, if you put the work and effort in. In this post, I will tell you some things that can help you achieve that next level, and some steps you can take to get there.

FIRST THING FIRST:
Stop being so hard on yourself, just stop. Quit downing yourself. "I'm so fat" "I'm ugly, no one will ever want me" "I'll never be happy". Guess what? You're exactly right. You know why? Because, you believe those things, so you project those thoughts through your expressions towards others. You are amazing the way you are. Okay? Sure, you have some excess fat, and sure, maybe your looks aren't that of the popular magazines and the TV/Movie stars. Guess what? They don't look that good either. They have photoshop and TONS of makeup, to make them look that way. In all reality, they are real people, with acne and blemishes. They have bad hair days, and feelings of always being bloated. But they put on that act, and trick you into thinking that they don't have a single care in the world. In all reality, they care more than each and every one of us. We care about going out in public looking how we do, but truth be told they get so much publicity that if they do have a single hint of some kind of blemish, all of a sudden their career is over. So stop comparing yourself to those you see on TV and in magazines. Because, you'll never be them. You are yourself. And, that is all you need to ask yourself to be. Don't expect to ever look like Marilyn Monroe. Or, Gerard Butler. It just won't happen. Love yourself, love your flaws. They make you beautiful, they make you human. They make you, real. Don't cover them up, don't let someone change you. If they don't like you for who you are, that is on them. Love yourself for who you are. And, if you don't like something, change it. But never let another persons opinion make you change. Don't lose the weight for them, to look better for them. Do it for your health. Quit standing in the mirror, sucking in your gut saying "I'm so fat and ugly I hate this". Instead look in there and say "I love myself, and if I change it will be for my health. Today will be a good day because I am alive". Because, ultimately, any day you wake up is a day to feel blessed.

SECOND:
Get on a routine. And stick with it. Don't just sometimes do it. Do it every single day of your life. Don't make the excuse of "I'm tired" or things along that line. Just DO IT. It's that simple. You either do it differently than you usually do, or stay the same. It's a simple concept really. When you break it down to the simplest terminology. It is simply, change your routine and you change your life. Keep the same routine, you'll keep the same future.

THIRD:
Meditate. Meditation every morning, daily. Can help your mind and body. It will help you to be less stressed. Will help your mind be sharper. Help your hunger, and your overall mood. You will find yourself to be more alert and help you be more "with it", If you may. You will feel an overall wellness. And an aura of happiness wash over you. You will he more relaxed and more at ease. Your whole body will feel good. It will help you get your motivation up.

FOURTH:
Adapt the Primal lifestyle. Stop drinking soda. Drink only water, tea or coffee. Eat real foods. Fatty meats, fruits occasionally and vegetables. Lots of vegetables. And eat till you're full. Only eat when you're hungry. And do periodic fasting.

FIFTH:
Be more positive. This is pretty self explanatory. Stop the stress. Stop being so negative, saying you cannot do anything. Or that it won't work. Just do it. And do it well. Give it your all. And never tell yourself you cannot do something.

SIXTH:
Keep it up. And keep doing it well. You will fall into your routine and you won't even think about it. You will just do it. Keep it up and you will continue to see results. You will consistently see results. May it be, fat loss. Muscle gains. Getting more cut. Getting healthier. A happier mind. You will see more and more results. And, eventually your goals will be achieved.

Just do what you do, and keep it consistent. You can achieve your results. Do your best, and don't let others get to you.

Live in the now.

I heard of an Author named Eckhart Tolle, and his book The Power of Now. This book changed my life so much. So much so, that I am on my third time listening to the audio book. The power of now is a powerful book, no pun intended. It taught me to live in the now. Living in the now, is the most amazing feeling you can ever experience. Once you let those past demons go, and you let the future hold you have on your life go. You just live for today. For this very moment. Nothing more, nothing less. You exist in this very moment, and only this moment. Another book, by John Eldredge titled Wild at Heart has also influenced a lot of my life. Along with a book by author John C Parkin, titled Fuck it Therapy: The Profane Way to Profound Happiness. These three books, have influenced the person I am becoming daily. I learned things I never would have without these three books.
Live is short, and living in the past is such a bad idea. Living in the past will only hinder your future, and living in the future will only hinder your present. Living in the now, will clear any past problem you have had. Living in the now, will clear out any worry you have for the future. What is the point of worrying about the future? You have no idea what will happen in the future. Any number of things are possible. The world could end in any second. Live in that second. You'll never get this second back. You'll never experience this exact moment you are living right now, ever again. Let me put into perspective just how short our lives are.
9/11 was done 15 years ago. I was born in 1992, that is 23(almost 24) years ago. My grandmother is in her 80's. We look at 80 years and think that is a long time. The biblical times were more than 4,000 years ago. That may seem like a long time. And, it is. But, to the world, it is but a blip. The world is MILLIONS of years old. You are living in THIS exact moment, for a reason. Live in it. Not in the past, the past is a million years ago. Not in the future, the future is a million years away. That 80 years, isn't very far away now is it? You could blink, and be 50 and wonder where those 30 years went. You could wake up tomorrow, or you could die in your sleep. You could walk in front of a bus, a car, get hit by a plane. Get shot, stabbed, get cancer and suffer. Get hooked on drugs, and become and addict and die in an alley somewhere. You could wake up, and choke on food. Drown in the bath tub. There are thousands of ways you could die. Is that second you're living in so long now?
The times we live in, are limited. But, we are limitless. We have the power to do anything we want. Why are we limiting ourselves by looking at the past? Why are we limiting ourselves by growing up so fast? Rekindle that kindred spirit from your childhood. Stop growing up so fast. Live in the now. Go for a walk. Hug and kiss your significant other. Play with your kids. Play with your pets. Write that book you always talked about writing. Write that poetry you use to write. Learn that instrument you gave up 10 years ago. Play some basketball. Get out and get some fresh air. Live in the now, because you never know what the next second, minute, hour, day, week, month or year has in store. You never know if YOU will be a part of it. The world keeps spinning when you're dead. You're gone, and the world doesn't stop. Why do you stop? Keep ever moving.
We like to speculate that we know what happens when we die. We like to believe in the idea of an afterlife. So we limit out life. Live in the now, because that afterlife you look towards could of couldn't exist. Live in the now, because you never know if you'll be able to live in the tomorrow. Change your life, for the now. Let go of the past, all the pain, all the misery you may have had. Let go of your preconceived notions of the future. We are but temporary beings on a temporary rock, that is part of a billion other rocks in the plane of existence we live in.
"100 years from now everyone who is living on this planet will be dead. So it's inconsequential really all the shit that you talk. All the bullshit that you stand for. It's more important what, what you're ready to build. What you're ready to build. What you're ready to pass down to your children. What you'r ready to create."- Immortal Technique.
Remember, when you're thinking that life sucks and it's so long. That quote above. You'll be gone in 100 years from now. And, live in the now of life. Instead of chasing the future, and living in the past.
